One might think that Nigella Lawson, one of the judges of the culinary contest show “The Taste” would have a perfectly immaculate kitchen with every dish looking and tasting like it came from a shop or a restaurant. Not so, she confesses to Now Daily. She prefers a more free and easy approach to cooking, and taste is more important to her than perfect appearance. Concerning the program “The Great British Bake-Off, ” Lawson says, “I don’t think I’d even pass the audition stage.”
She’s not underconfident. Lawson feels her creations taste great, but they don’t have to look like museum pieces. “I love baking and I bake a lot, and I love what I do back, but the words, ‘uniformity of size and shape’ make me quake … I’m perfectly content with the ramshackle home-made ness of my creations.”

Lawson admits she drops and spills things, but she always cleans up. She rarely has a strategy or recipe but just jumps right in. She dislikes the idea of form over content and concept over taste. She even cooks in her dressing gown and says she wear’s men’s gowns.
