Gwyneth Paltrow Hires Martha Stewart’s Former CEO for Goop

Printemps Christmas Decorations Inauguration In Paris

After Martha Stewart told Net-A-Porter magazine that Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow should stop trying to be Martha Stewart and stick to acting, Martha Stewart Living’s former CEO Lisa Gersh, is now going to head up Goop. Paltrow told Mail online, “She is the perfect person to build on the momentum we have already created at Goop, and to diversify our opportunities to bring Goop’s positive energy in what they read, in what they try, in what they buy and how they live.” Lisa Gersh was CEO of Martha Stewart’s Living for less than a year before leaving in 2013.

Not only is Paltrow taking on Martha Stewart, she may be trying to outdo Victoria Beckham by designing her own fashion brand. In the past, Paltrow worked with master fashion designers such as Michael Kors and Stella McCartney, but now she feels she can go it alone, with some hand holding from Stella and Diane von Furstenberg.

Just when you thought Gwyneth Paltrow might be a tad busy, she has also announced that she plans to convert to Judaism. Since conversion takes study, practice and isn’t just a swim in the mikveh, one wonders when Paltrow squeezes in time for challah baking and Hebrew lessons amid all that other Goop.
