Companies Compete With Deals For National Coffee Day Monday

national coffee day

As many mothers like to say, “Every day is Mother’s Day, ” so every day seems to be coffee day. For some people, every hour is coffee hour, but there is an official day to celebrate the world’s most stimulating bean; National Coffee Day is Monday, September 29, and Dunkin’ Donuts, Krispy Kreme, McDonald’s and Tim Hortons are competing with deals to attract customers. Of course, no one makes money from free coffee, but the interest the deals will generate among customers can maybe attract them to visit more often or buy some food to go with their coffee.

CNN Money reports that Dunkin’ Donuts is offering free medium cups of its dark roast, with the hopes of course, that customers may buy a donut to dip into the coffee. Krispy Kreme, not to be outdone, is offering a free 12 oz. cup of coffee or mocha, latte or iced coffee for $1. McDonald’s got a running start, and  has been giving away coffee for two weeks, but the deal ends Monday. Tim Horton’s has a more creative idea and has customers going on scavenger hunts to find hidden gift cards.
