Israel’s TaKaDu Partners with Spanish FCC in Water Purification Project

An Israeli firm is helping the world clean up its supply of drinking water.

Israeli water management company TaKaDu has announced a partnership with Spain’s FCC Aqualia water management company in a project to deploy the TaKaDu solution which will be used to detect inefficiencies in water distribution systems, provide an integrated management layer, and thereby improve the service offered to citizens.

After FCC Aqualia’s technical teams conducted an analysis, a test city in Southern Spain was chosen for the initial phase of the partnership, in which the solution is expected to provide better operational decision making and early warnings on network
Inefficiencies. The early warning notifications would reduce the loss of water and increase the efficiency of the city’s distribution network.

FCC Aqualia said that it decided to partner with TaKaDu as part of its long-term goal of responsible innovation. In addition to improving water quality and enhancing sustainability efforts among its networks.

The company’s General Manager, Félix Parra, said that it, “is dedicated to optimizing its water distribution systems, minimizing water, energy and other losses which directly impact the company’s ability to manage operational costs and successfully serve our customers. We want TaKaDu’s software to become a central solution that could provide us with a birds’ eye view of our multiple distribution systems. I believe that with TaKaDu, we will be able to improve our customer service across our networks.”

Amir Peleg, the founder and CEO of Takadu, said of the collaboration, “We are very proud to have FCC Aqualia as a new customer. Last October Takadu raised $6 million in capital from 3M and other investors.
