Chelsea Handler has never been one to be shy about bearing her soul – or her breasts as the case may be. Chelsea Handler is now doing both – so to speak – as she makes a push for people to get out and votes on Tuesday’s mid-term elections in the U.S with a new video that she released on Instagram.

In America celebrities and politicians go together like baseball and apple pie. And comics like Chelsea Handler have traditionally made politics and social commentary central to their comedic routines.

In the video that she posted to Instagram, Chelsea Handler said, “Oh, hi everybody. I just wanted to remind everybody that this Sunday is Daylight Savings. I’m not really sure why we still have Daylight Savings because I’m pretty sure we voted that off the ballot last year, but I guess some elections don’t matter, which is why it’s really important for you guys to all vote before Tuesday or on Nov. 8.”

Chelsea Handler also tweeted, “Turn your clocks back, not this country. Go vote this Tuesday!”

“This is very important, okay? We need to preserve our rights.”

And “It’s not up to one party of old white dudes to take away our hard-won freedoms. Register to vote, show up at the polls, and vote Democrat across the board.”

Such political statements are nothing new for the raunchy comedian who has never shied away from political controversy. For example, last summer she took to social media to slam the Supreme Court for undoing 50 years of abortion rights for women in America.

And in January of 2021, after a MAGA mob stormed the Capitol building in Washington, Chelsea Handler tweeted, “its crazy blatant fascism. Violently attempting to seize state power in rejection of a democratic process. Insanely antithetical to whatever “patriotism” trump supporters thought they supported. Idiots with guns.”

Michelle Pfeiffer was just one of the celebrities who took notice. She wrote in the comments, “Well THAT certainly got our attention!”
