Israeli billionaire Beny Steinmetz hires Alan Dershowitz for defense team
American-Jewish lawyer Prof. Alan Dershowitz and former Israeli Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein are joining the defense team of billionaire Beny Steinmetz.
Beny Steinmetz along with other Israelis living abroad, is alleged to have paid tens of millions of dollars bribed in profits in 2006-2012 to Guinea President Alpha Conde and his wife for iron mining rights.
Weinstein is joining defense team leader Adv. Yuval Sasson from the Meitar Liquornik Geva Leshem Tal law firm as an advisor.

At the age of 28, Prof. Alan Dershowitz became the youngest full professor of law in Harvard University history. He has won 13 of the 15 murder and attempted murder cases he has handled. He is a prominent scholar on U.S constitutional law
Among his celebrity clients, including Mike Tyson, Patty Hearst and overturning the conviction of Claus von Bülow for the attempted murder of his wife, Sunny. The latest in 1995 case was the appellate adviser for the defense in the O. J. Simpson murder trial.
During his term as Attorney General Weinstein approved investigations with similar nature of that of the suspicions attributed to Steinmetz.
Beny Steinmetz case will be his first to appear as an advocate.
