The Porn Industry Gets Lucky in Las Vegas

The porn industry may be moving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, given new restrictions in California that seem a bit repressive to some, as reported by NBC News 3. Regulations that require permission from the health department and “measure B” which mandates that all male porn stars wear condoms is causing Stephen Hirsch, sometimes known as “the porn king” and head of Vivid Entertainment, to set his sights on Vegas.

Hirsch is awaiting a ruling by the 9th circuit court on an appeal on measure B. In case the outcome is not favorable to him, Hirsch thinks Las Vegas would provide a better opportunity; “I think Las Vegas is interesting because of its proximity to LA and it’s an attractive place for some performers to move.” But since porn star Joanna Angel says she only shoots 4 to 5 days a month, she doesn’t see any reason to relocate permanently.

Currently, there is a growing trend of shooting porn films in homes in Las Vegas Valley. As star Sarah Jane Woodall  said, “You never know what is going on behind closed doors in this city so even in a nice neighborhood .…”
