Google CEO Sundar Pichai Spending New Year’s In India To Launch New Project

Google CEO Sundar Pichai is in India for the new year. Pichai is vacationing with his family in the country of his birth, but also has plans to make a major announcement about a new Google initiative in India.

The Indian Express reports that Google will hold a special event on January 4 in New Delhi which will be hosted Sundar Pichai and attended by India’s Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

While the company has not revelealed the exact nature of the event, or the initiative to be announced, Google hinted that it will have something to do with small businesses in the invitation which it sent out.
