The ageless rocker Bon Jovi is set to perform October 3 with his namesake band in Israel. So shame on you Roger Waters and the BDS.
The band will perform at Tel Aviv’s Yarkon Park—tickets range in price from NIS 340 (about $88) for the lawn area to NIS 1, 100 ($284) for the special VIP area which comes with dinner and alcohol. But the producers promise that “Even those who purchase a regular ticket will get to be closer to the stage than in other concerts held at the park.”

Guy Besser, one of the show’s promoters, estimates the cost of the concert to be about $4 million.
In a statement, Bon Jovi said, “We’ve toured around the world, performing over 2, 900 concerts in more than 50 countries and today I am excited to announce that for the first time ever we are performing in Tel Aviv. See you on October 3.”
“We have been working on this project for half a year now, ” said producer Shay Mor Yosef. “It’s important to us to show people around the world that Israel is not what they see on CNN. This is a historical event and we hope the Israeli audience embraces it.”
“I’m sure it will be the show of the year, ” said promoter Marcel Avram. “I have had the honor to present Bon Jovi for 25 years, and while I thought my previous show bringing Robbie Williams to Israel was the show of the year, that was the past and now we look to the future.”
On the issue of the calls to boycott Israel Avram added, “Jon Bon Jovi couldn’t care less. He is not the first or the last one to come to Israel. We are a proud country where a lot of people enjoy music, everyone wants to perform in Israel.”
