This time he will be travelling across America in his custom three-wheeled motorcycle, covering about 2, 400 miles (3800 Km). The journey across the legendary route 66 will kick off on June 23, 2015 and last for 8 days.

“I am taking another step into the unknown!” said 84 year-old Canadian actor, “A phenomenal bike made by American Wrench and a 2, 400 mile journey, where the road holds the big mystery.”

Shatner partnered with Illinois-based motorcycle builder American Wrench to create “Rivet.” The motorcycle, fitted with a V8 engine, was inspired by the B-17 bomber. American Wrench described the motorcycle as “the ultimate landjet” and hopes to sell a limited number of custom motorcycles to collectors.

Besides promoting Rivet, Shatner wants to raise awareness about the veterans’ organization American Legion. Founded in 1919, American Legion is involved in programs to rehabilitate war veterans and other charitable activities across America.

Shatner will be accompanied by the members of American Legion and American Wrench crew. The eight-day journey will be documented for a television show.
