Sen. Graham: Iran Deal Has ‘Snowball’s Chance in Hell’ to Survive in Congress

New York Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer said on Sunday he was “withholding judgment.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) says he has scrutinized the Iran nuclear deal and finds it unfavorable (huge surprise there): “I don’t think there’s a snowball’s chance in Hell this framework will get approved by Congress after review, ” he told Fox’s Chris Wallace.

Graham said the deal ” is so weak in a time we need to be strong, ” and “I don’t think any Republican or Democrat is going to allow that to become final.”

Graham also told Wallace that “If I can raise the money, I’ll do it, ” it meaning running for president in 2016. He pointed out his home state advantage in early primaries: “If I didn’t think I could win South Carolina, I wouldn’t be talking to you.”

Oh, for sure, he’ll win the Republican primaries in North Carolina.

New York Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer said on Sunday he was “withholding judgment” on the draft deal for now, until he learns more about it.

Schumer said: “I’m in the process of being briefed. It’s a very difficult situation. It’s a situation that requires a lot of care and I’m withholding judgment until I learn both sides very carefully.

“There are a whole lot of things we don’t know yet. When do sanctions go into effect? How rigid is the inspections regime? What will be done on the military bases? So I think it’s premature to give an answer one way or the other right now.”
