Sharon Osbourne, wife and manager of Ozzy Osbourne, says Ozzfest Japan will be the final show for legendary metal group Black Sabbath, as reported by smh.com
Sharon, who is co-founder of Ozzfest, is the manager of Ozzy individually and not the band, but other members did not deny the statement. Tommy Iommi, guitarist and one of the band’s founding members, has been diagnosed with lymphoma and he said his doctor doesn’t think the cancer will go away, according to the Mirror.

Black Sabbath was once named the greatest heavy metal band of all time by MTV, whose program showing the day to day life of the Osbourne family kicked off the reality show craze. Iommi, who was the band’s main composer, lost the tips of two fingers on the last day on the job at a sheet metal factory in 1965. He refused to give up the guitar, but played with thimbles on his fingers and at lower pitches to make the tension much less on his fingers–this gave the band’s guitar solos a heavier sound. The band’s previous album, 13, reach the top of the charts and the single Is God Dead? was awarded a Grammy. Black Sabbath will likely put out another album produced by Rick Rubin.
After last year’s Ozzfest, Ozzy Osbourne said, according to triplem, “The whole Sabbath experience this time around was great. We all made friends, we didn’t fuck around, we knew we had a job to do, and we did it. It was a lot of fun. So we’re going to do one more album, and a final tour.”
