One wonders why this is happening at a time when people are flipping Manhattan properties for more than a %50 profit after as little as 2 years of ownership.
But before you feel too sorry for the two time Oscar nominee, Hill is reportedly worth as much as $30 million.
The large, one bedroom apartment is located on the second floor of 27 Howard Street. It had two bedrooms when Hill bought it in 2012 for $2.65 million, but he had the apartment reconfigured. It has 2, 000 square feet and was renovated and updated by Hill. There are exposed brick walls with a rough white finish, original hardwood floors, a fireplace, uncovered air ducts and 13 foot high ceilings. It also comes with a gourmet kitchen with brass hardware, classic marble bathrooms, central air conditioning, and a washer and dryer.
The listing describes it as “Rare and Authentic” with, “grand scaled proportions highlighted by the picturesque and striking open views overlooking Crosby Street through its enormous windows.”
It is owned through a trust which is operated by Hill’s father Richard Feldstein, a money manager for celebrities whose clients include Madonna and Lenny Kravitz.
27 Howard Street is a five story gray cast iron building with a black ground floor façade. It was built in 1915 and has 6 units.
Zillow describes Howard Street as, “one of the most fashionable, tranquil blocks in the historic SoHo Cast Iron district.” It is a short street that runs only 4 blocks, from Mercer east to Lafayette just north of Canal Street by Chinatown. It was named for Harry Howard, the 19th Century chief of New York’s volunteer fire department.
Douglas Elliman’s Jason Seligman is the broker handling the listing.
The actor also owns a two bedroom apartment in the West Hollywood neighborhood in Los Angeles in a building called the Lofts at Laurel Court.
