DoNanza received $1 million in financing in 2011 from a group that included Google Chairman Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors fund, and Yossi Vardi, Afterdox, but despite that injection, on Jul 30, 2014 the service went offline.

Freelancer CEO Matt Barrie said “The DoNanza assets are a great fit for Freelancer.com and will increase both the size of the community and marketplace liquidity – two dimensions where we are already world leaders.”

The acquisition of DoNanza will be funded from the Company’s existing cash reserves and is not expected to have a material impact on revenue in 2015. The price for the acquisition was not disclosed.

According to the DoNanza website, Freelancer is already in the process of migrating all the DoNanza accounts to the Freelancer.com network, due for completion by 9:00 AM EDT on Wednesday March 18th.

DoNanza users will receive an email with information on how to log in when the migration is complete, along with a special introductory gift.
