Jon Stewart hosted the annual autism benefit show Night of Too Many Stars on Sunday and a multitude of Jewish comics attended the event. Many spoke about Stewart’s impending retirement while interviewed on the red carpet.
Sarah Silverman said, “I think he’s going to watch his kids grow up and be even more involved with their lives. He’s a real family man and these are exciting years that you don’t get back. And then he can do anything. He can direct, he can make movies, he can run for office. I can’t imagine he’d want to, but it’d be great for us. He might need to lean in.”

Amy Schumer said, “I think he should gain, like, a ton of weight, get really into reading like trashy novels and follow his real dreams of being a street musician. A lot of people don’t know this but he plays the steel drums, and he sometimes gets on the 7 train to make some extra dough.”
Gilbert Gottfried said, “I think Jon should get like a big shopping cart, and take soda cans out of the garbage and turn them in for the refund.”
And Maya Rudolph, whose father is Jewish, said, “I really am not ready to say goodbye.”
