Jay Roach to Direct Bryan Cranston as President Johnson on HBO

There is no word yet as to who else will appear in “All The Way” nor an expected premiere date.

Jay Roach will continue to direct political and historical based dramas. He has signed to helm HBO’s upcoming biopic about President Lyndon Johnson.

“All the Way” will be based on a Broadway Play of the same name about America’s 36th President. Bryan Cranston will reprise his role as Lyndon Johnson.

Jay Roach

Roach, 56, who was raised Baptist and converted to Judaism when he married former Bangles singer Susanna Hoffs, previously directed “Game Change.” The made for TV movie was about the vice presidential candidacy of Sarah Palin in the 2008 elections. It also aired on HBO.

He was also a producer of the 2008 HBO movie “Recount” about the Florida recount in the 2000 Presidential elections.

Roach also directed the 2012 comedy “The Campaign” which starred Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. That was not based on true events, but a satire about American politics.
