Jeff Goldblum has been confirmed as returning for the much anticipated sequel to “Independence Day.” It has only taken two decades for the movie studio to get around to making the picture.
Jessie Usher and Liam Hemsworth are two new actors who will be joining Goldblum in the sequel. As of now, none of the other original cast members who included Will Smith and Bill Pullman are set to return.

But the director of the first movie, Roland Emmerich, will be returning to helm the sequel. He announced Goldblum’s return on Twitter saying, “Excited to Officially announce @LiamHemsworth and #JeffGoldblum as the next two pieces of the #IndependenceDay sequel.”
