A total of $17 million was raised for Carnegie Mellon’s David A. Tepper Quadrangle and for Presidential Scholarships and Fellowships, according to cmu.edu.
Jim and Sharon Rohr as well as Legendary Entertainment, which has Thomas Tull as a trustee, donated to the Tepper quad. Wallace Sadauskas and the estate of Patricia Chotiner Traylor have given support to Presidential Scholarships and Fellowships. CMU President Subra Suresh said, “The university is committed to attracting and supporting outstanding students from around the world and offering innovative education that takes advantage of CMU’s path breaking research and practice across disciplines.”

The donations were announced at a conference “Integrated Intelligence: San Francisco and Beyond, ” about innovation and pushing the boundaries of human and machine intelligence. The Tepper quad will be 4.5 acres and will be located at the north part of the campus. It will house the Tepper school of business. The lead gift for the establishment of the Tepper quad was a $67 million gift from the manager of Appaloosa Management.
