Nationals starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann could be in his final season in Washington, unless he gets an offer now.

Nats Insider’s Mark Zuckerman has tweeted: Zimmermann says he’s willing to listen if #Nats want to talk this spring but won’t during season: “I think everything’s on hold right now.”

Both sides say they want to talk contract extension, but Zimmermann wants his situation resolved by the start of the regular season, or he’ll be going elsewhere the following year.

Zimmermann, 28, will be making $16.5 million in 2015, in a two-year, $24 million deal that started 2014. Last season was his best so far, with a 2.66 ERA and a 182/29 strikeouts vs. walks ratio, in 199 2/3 innings.

Zimmermann finished the regular season with a no-hitter against the Marlins September 28.
