The trailer for Judd Apatow’s new movie “Trainwreck, ” which stars Amy Schumer and Bill Hader, has been released exclusively through Twitter.
Twitter has certainly already been a success for some time now, but wow, now movie trailers are getting released through it. This makes sense, though, as fans of a movie’s stars who follow them on Twitter will be get immediate access to new movie trailers without having to look for them on line.
In the Twitter post Schumer wrote, “Here is the trailer for @TrainwreckMovie #Trainwreck We are very proud. I hope you like it.”
Hader, unlike his co-stars while he was at Saturday Night Live, Jason Sudeikis and Kristen Wig, has yet to have a break out movie. Schumer, a standup comic, is also looking for her big breakout film which will take the young comic beyond the current cult status that her cable comedy variety series “Inside Amy Schumer” has given her.
So the question for both comedic actors is, “Will this be their Bridesmaids or Their Horrible Bosses, ” the breakout movies for Wig and Sudeikis respectively.
Written by Schumer and directed by Apatow, “Trainwreck” tells the story of a woman named Amy, played by Schumer, who, since she was a little girl, has had it drilled into her head by her rascal of a dad that monogamy isn’t realistic.
Now a magazine writer, Amy lives by that credo – enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment – but in actuality, she’s kind of in a rut. When she finds herself starting to fall for the subject of the new article she’s writing, a charming and successful sports doctor named Aaron Conners (Hader), Amy starts to wonder if other grown-ups, including this guy who really seems to like her, might be on to something.
The trailer opens with SNL alum Collin Quinn, playing Amy’s father, as he tells her that monogamy is not realistic. It then flashes forward 23 years to the adult Amy. We are then treated to a montage of Amy’s dating experiences.
Due out July 17th, the movie co-stars Tilda Swinton, Brie Larson, Dave Attell and current Saturday Night Live Star Vanessa Bayer.
