David Geffen has finally gotten a resolution to his stalker problems. Jamie Kuntz has been ordered to stay at least 200 yards away from Geffen for the next 10 years.
The judge’s ruling in the case came as part of a plea agreement where Kuntz pled no contest to misdemeanor stalking charges. The 21 year old former soccer player will be required to undergo at least a year of psychiatric counseling and be on probation for 2 years.

He was arrested last October after violating a restraining order that the 71 year old music mogul had received against the younger man.
Kuntz claimed that he and Geffen had been lovers, but Geffen’s representatives have denied that any such relationship existed between the two men.
Whether or not Geffen and Kuntz had a relationship is irrelevant, though. Stalkers can be people that you were intimate with, people with whom you only had a passing relationship, or complete strangers.
Being rich and famous may seem like a care free existence to the masses of unimportant people like you and me. But fame comes with its own set of problems including the obsessed fan.
Celebrity stalkers are usually just a nuisance. They sometimes camp out near and actor’s home or try to call, e mail or message a super model non-stop.
But at times such stalkers turn violent. In 1982 then up and coming young actress Theresa Saldana was stabbed 10 times by a stalker. She survived. She recovered. She resumed her acting career.
The young actress Rebecca Schaeffer was murdered by her stalker in 1989 when she was only 21 years old.
So yes we can laugh and be dismissive of the issue of celebrity stalkers by saying, “I should have such problems.” Yes someone super rich like David Geffen can certainly afford private security.
But why should he have too?
Many everyday people also suffer from stalking and they do not have the resources of a wealthy celebrity to protect themselves. They cannot afford a team of lawyers and private security.
But we only hear about stalking when it affects a celebrity.
