Keshet Media Prepares for Third Annual International Convention to be Held in Jerusalem

Keshet Media

Israel’s Keshet Media Group is preparing for its third annual Innovation in Television convention in Jerusalem to be held in March. Keshet developed the Israeli television show Prisoners of War which was remade in America as “Homeland.”

As if that was not enough, countless other Israeli shows have been or are being remade abroad such as “In Treatment.” Known mostly for high tech innovation, Israel is also quickly becoming a hub for entertainment innovation as well.

To be held on March 15 and 16 at the YMCA Jerusalem Keshet says that the conference will provide a stage for those who shape the present and future of TV. Gathering from all over the world, industry leaders and disruptors will confront modern TV’s many questions and share their visions.
Keshet’s CEO Avi Nir and Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat will host the conference, which will kick off with a local premiere of USA Network’s upcoming event series DIG. Universal Cable Productions produced the Keshet-developed series.

Said Nir: “Three years ago, we aimed to create a global platform to openly discuss the dual effect of creativity and technological progress on television. Today, there have indeed been significant shifts in the television landscape due to immensely innovative ideas and new digital frontiers. We are pleased to witness ideas that were discussed and sometimes conceived at INTV come to life. We are thrilled to welcome such an internationally esteemed group of industry mavericks and pioneers to our third annual conference.”

Executives from Sony, HBO and AMC are expected to participate. Speakers will include Richard Plepler, the CEO and Chairman of HBO; Peter Fincham, the director of television at ITV; Andrea Wong, the president of international productions at Sony Pictures Television; Susan Lyne, the president of BBG Ventures at AOL and former CEO of the AOL Brand Group; and Golden Globe-winning writers Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi (The Affair, In Treatment).

Other announced participants include Bruce Tuchman, the president of AMC Global and Sundance Channel Global; Stephen Friedman, the president of MTV Networks; Jacob Shwirtz, the chief social media officer at Endemol Beyond USA; Shaul Olmert, the co-founder and CEO of Playbuzz; journalist Ari Shavit; Rick Rosen, a board member and the head of television at WME; Lee Hunt, the founder of Lee Hunt LLC, who will speak at a PromaxBDA creative clinic, which will take place for a third time as a unique collaboration between PromaxBDA and Keshet Media Group; and filmmaker Porter Erisman.
