Sarah Jessica Parker and Rihanna Design Fendi Handbags for Charity

Sarah Jessica Parker and Rihanna

Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna and comedian Rachel Feinstein have gotten together to make their own Fendi handbags which will be auctioned off for charity. At the same time Parker has plans to open a new showroom to sell and showcase ladies’ footwear at 156 Fifth Avenue at 20th Street in Manhattan.

Parker and other celebrities including model Jourdan Dunn and Leandra Medine designed personalized versions of Fendi’s 3Baguette handbag. The bags will all be shown at a cocktail party hosted by Karl Lagerfeld, Silvia Venturini Fendi and the brand’s chairman and chief executive officer Pietro Beccari at Fendi’s new flagship store on New York’s Madison Avenue on February 13th. They will then be kept on display for at least one month.

If you cannot make it to the store in person do not worry. The bags will be displayed on line at launch3baguetteauction.fendi.com and bids can also be made through the Internet.

The proceeds from each star’s handbag will go to a charity which he or she has chosen. Parker has selected The Brain Trauma Foundation as the beneficiary of the money from the sale of her bag. Feinstein’s favorite charity is the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and Rihanna chose her own charity, The Clara Lionel Foundation, which she founded in 2012 and which works to improve the quality of life for communities globally in the areas of health, education, arts, and culture.

As for parker’s new shoe store, the 3, 000 square foot space will open during fashion week from February 12 – 19, the New York Post has reported. Apparently the idea came after Parker’s neighbors were not pleased when she photographed her collection of rainbow-colored stilettos from the stoop to the street outside 66 Perry St. and some suggested that she should open a showroom. 66 Perry St. was the home of the character who Parker played on “Sex in the City.”

Francesco Bardazzi, executive vice president of PD Properties found the location for Parker.
