Tony Fadell, who worked at Apple and co-founded the Nest thermostat company, has been tapped by Google to take charge of its Glass Glass. The company is also putting an end to its Glass Explorer program.
Google acquired Nest last year for $3.2 billion.

The wearable Google Glass device has been available from retailers for $1, 500, but will be pulled from the market as of January 15th. So if you are a collector of tech or think that the devices might be worth something someday then you had better hurry if you still haven’t bought one yet.
The company said that it is ending the line because it wants to revamp the project. In a blog post Google said, “Explorers, we asked you to be pioneers, and you took what we started and went further than we ever could have dreamed: from the large hadron collider at CERN, to the hospital operating table; the grass of your backyard to the courts of Wimbledon; in fire stations, recording studios, kitchens, mountain tops and more.”
“Glass was in its infancy, and you took those very first steps and taught us how to walk. Well, we still have some work to do, but now we’re ready to put on our big kid shoes and learn how to run.”
If you already have an Explorer it will still function and its warrantee is still good.
