Another Uber driver has been accused of Rape. This time in Chicago. The company is also in hot water down under as it has been accused of thwarting attempts by Australian officials to crack down on illegal ride sharing.
46 year old Adnan Nafasat who drives for Uber X was formally charged in Cook County with sexual assault and kidnapping after he allegedly overpowered and choked a 21-year-old passenger last July 31st.

“Our thoughts are with the victim of this horrible incident, ” Uber Spokeswoman Jennifer Mullin said in a statement sent to The Huffington Post. “We immediately removed the driver from our platform upon learning of the allegations and have been assisting authorities with the investigation.”
Meanwhile undercover Australian officials in Queensland were blocked in their attempts to catch Uber drivers in the act of engaging in illegal rideshares. According to reports, Queensland authorities had their cell phones blocked in some way by Uber so that they could not record the various transactions for the record.
After a cease and desist order was issued against the ride sharing service last year its drivers in Australia now run the risk of being fined more than $1, 000 US if caught in the act.
