Unabashed, unrepentant and unfunny French comic Dieudonne M’bala M’bala has certainly gone too far this time with his anti-Semitic rants. The Israel basher has made comments in support of the murderers of 4 Jews at a Paris kosher supermarket last week.
French authorities are have now announced that they are investigating him for “defending terrorism.”

Different countries have different standards when it comes to the limits of freedom of speech. In America you can make the most heinous comments that you want about any race, religion or ethnicity and your words are protected by the Constitution. That is unless you call on someone to actually break the law in some way.
But most European nations have a lower standard – or higher depending on how you look at it – and do not allow people to make racist comments publicly. Dieudonne M’bala M’bala has been investigated by French police in the past for comments that he made in his standup routines against Jews.
Dieudonne wrote on his Facebook page, “Tonight, as far as I’m concerned, I feel like Charlie Coulibaly.” This, of course, was a take on how people around the world have been saying “I am Charlie” in sympathy for French political satirist Charlie Hebdo who was murdered by terrorists in Paris last week. “Coulibaly” is the last name of the terrorist who murdered the four Jews last Thursday.
