Television stars are always trying to prove that they are great actors by making movies. It seems that in America film is taken more seriously than television.
Many a sitcom star did succeed and even go on to win Oscars. These include Robin Williams who once starred on Mork and Mindy and Tom Hanks who was on Bosom Buddies. Helen Hunt even managed to win an Oscar for best actress for the movie “As Good as it Gets” while she was also staring on the television sitcom Mad About You.
So if Kat Dennings gets good reviews for her performance in this movie then she has a good chance of becoming America’s next break out star.
Due out next year the movie sees the 28 year old actress, born Katherine Litwack, playing a young woman named Renee Yohe who suffers from depression which in turn leads to drug addiction. There was a real life Renee on whom the character is based and who was the inspiration for the organization called To Write Love on Her Arms for which the movie is named.
As the website states, “To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.”
Directed by Nathan Frankowski, the film co-stars Chad Michael Murray, Rupert Friends and Mark Saul.
