Hampton Creek has raised $90 million in a Strategic Series C funding round, as reported by Fortune magazine. The total funding has reached $120 million. The company, which produces Just Mayo, got a lot of attention recently when Unilever, which owns the Hellman’s mayonnaise brand, tried to sue Hampton Creek over its using the term “mayo” for its eggless product. Unilever didn’t win, but it put Hampton Creek and Just Mayo in the spotlight.

Tetrick said the funding will be used for increased research into creating products and patents. He added that the funding came from a “hyper eclectic group of people, including DeepMind Technologies, Nick Prtizker of Tao Capital Partners and Jean Pigozzi.
