Everyone remembers Adam Sandler’s famous Hanukkah song line “David Lee Roth lights the menorah.” Well, now the former Van Halen frontman is wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. The song is called, originally enough, Happy Holidays, and apparently mentions, in addition to Santa, Elvis and Oprah.
The tune harks back to the talking folk style of Woody Guthrie with surreal imagery and some harmonica. The scenario is Santa Claus coming over for a l’chaim, then a whole lot of famous people dead and alive show up, and beware of the vampires next door. There is also Betty Boop and a volcano thrown in for good measure. And elfs doing yoga on his roof. Can mere alcohol accomplish all this, or was he smoking something too? Well, it’s all in fun.

“Happy Holidays from Diamond Dave’s Tiki Bunker, ” goes the Roth greeting. He also dropped hints that he is working on a Van Halen project, but didn’t give details, according to Antimusic.
