Will Dreamworks Studios Change Its Name?

Dreamworks

What’s in a name? Apparently a lot to Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg who’s Dreamworks Studios is considering a name change according to a report in The New York Post.

People at the movie studios are reportedly tired of being confused with Katzenberg’s Dreamworks animation which, it seems, has eclipsed the live film production studios with its more successful animated movies. They are also annoyed with all the recent publicity centered on the other company over its recently failed merger attempts.

Such a name change would coincide with the addition of new CEO, Michael Wright, the Post said.

Some say that Dreamworks could be renamed Amblin, which would be a natural choice as it is the name of Steven Spielberg’s personal production company, Amblin Entertainment.

In other Steven Spielberg news the two time Oscar winning director apparently has a new bromance with the Oscar nominated actor Bradley Cooper. The two were recently spotted hanging out together at Manhattan’s Bar Centrale after the director saw the actor perform in a new Broadway revival of “The Elephant Man.”
