Violent, Campy and sometimes nutty hit cable series The Sons of Anarchy may have ended its run this week, but its stars’ careers live on. Maggie Siff, who played the biker gang leader Jax Teller’s wife Dr. Tara Knowles on the show, has just been signed to play a role on Showtime’s upcoming new series Billions.
Siff, whose father was Jewish, will play the central character of Wendy Rhoades, the wife of U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades, who will be played by Paul Giamatti. She once again will be playing a doctor. This time a psychiatrist who changed careers and is now a successful performance coach for top financial figures.

Billions was created by Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin. It is a fictional drama that takes a forensic look at the world of high finance. Gimatti’s character will but heads with hedge fund king Bobby “Axe” Axelrod who will be played by Damian Lewis. This marks a return to Showtime for Lewis two years after his popular character was killed off the network’s hit show Homeland.
Neil Burger is set to direct the pilot, which will be filmed in New York in early 2015.
Siff’s last television appearance saw her being brutally murdered by her character’s mother in law in the final episode of Sons of Anarchy’s sixth season.
