Jeff Kagan Thinks Uber And Lyft Are Going Full Speed Ahead

uber and lyft toon

Jeff Kagan, columnist and technology analyst, thinks that Uber and Lyft demonstrate the victory of wireless in traditional industries. There is no doubt that these two services are giving old-fashioned taxis a run for their money, and many worry about the sustainability of the traditional cab company’s business model. While he admits he has not yet used Lyft, which is relatively new compared to Uber, Kagan thinks the ease and value of Uber make it a winner. All a customer has to do is to open their smartphone, click for a car service, and the Uber driver is able to find them through a screen that shows them where the customer is. Uber customers often pay substantially less than they would for a taxi.

“That is why Uber is such a huge success and growing quickly. Lyft is a competitor to Uber. They are even newer, so they are not in many cities yet, but they are rapidly growing as well.”

Kagan thinks it is a good thing that there is both Lyft and Uber, because competition will improve quality and keep prices low. While this isn’t great news for drivers, it is a boon to customers.
