The Weinstein Co. is planning to work hard to get Jessica Chastain her first Oscar for her performance in The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. The Weinsteins are also using social media to promote their new animated family movie Paddington.
If she should win the best actress Oscar it would make three times a charm for the star of Interstellar who was nominated twice in the past. The 37 year old Chastain played the title role of Eleanor Rigby opposite the Scottish actor James McAvoy.

The film explores a married couple’s story as they try to reclaim the life and love they once knew and pick up the pieces of a past that may be too far gone.
The Weinstein Company acquired the rights to the movie after it premiered to rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival. The Hollywood Reporter has said that the company, “has made an internal decision to aggressively get behind Chastain for a best actress nom.”
The Weinsteins’ movies have won a multitude of Oscars. Gwyneth Paltrow took home a best actress statue for Shakespeare in Love back in 1999.
Chastain is best known for her starring role in 2012’s Zero Dark Thirty.
Meanwhile the Weinsteins intend to release videos on Vine and Instagram for a Paddington version of the Cut the Rope app which will in turn support the release of the new film Paddington.
FullBottle, a San Francisco-based media company that pairs brands with online creators brokered the deal. Eric Wachs, VP of marketing at FullBottle, told Kidscreen, ““The influencers will be promoting not just the app to drive downloads, but also they’ll be creating short micro-videos to promote the film itself. It’s a duel-pronged approach.”
