Crybaby Ayelet Waldman Ranting against the Times

Ayelet Waldman

Don’t get on the bad side of writer Ayelet Waldman. The woman certainly knows how to throw a tantrum at being snubbed which is exactly what she has just done to the New York Times.

When are celebrities and politicians going to learn to take a time out or do some breathing exercises before they post emotional rants on social media? At the very least they should have an assistant of some sort review what they have written before it goes live.

Waldman took offense when the Times failed to recognize her latest novel, Love and Treasure. The paper did not include it on its list of the most influential books for 2014.

So the novelist took to Twitter to vent saying, “I am really not dealing well with having failed to make the @nytimes notable book list. Love & Treasure is a fucking great novel IISSM, ” and, “It’s just so fucking demoralizing. You pour your heart into your work, you get awesome reviews, and then someone decides it’s not “notable.”

The response was quick and telling. Gabriel Roth tweeted, “Every writer has an Ayelet Waldman inside him/her, most of us just keep it under wraps.”

Susannah Scott wrote, “I’ve chronicled several author soc media meltdowns, u r there. Well meaning advice, delete all these tweets ASAP. Will turn ugly.” To which Waldman responded, “nah. I was honest. Am not ashamed.”

Waldman later tried to backtrack posting that she understands that there are, “real problems in the world” and that she planned to “do something good for someone else.” She also called on people to buy her book as if that will somehow help solve the world’s problems.
