Oded Vakrat, Founder and CEO, HashSnap, said after winning, “We connect people to each other. It is mostly for dating reasons. The App identifies the people standing next to you, in a radius that you determine. You can get information about this person, personal information derived from images, but not only from appearances. The focus is on the participant’s personal circle of acquaintances.
“The application defines a daily topic every day and identifies people uploading photos in real time with respect to the same subject. That way you can learn about them in everyday life and not just from a vague profile on Facebook. It builds their personality in a cumulative manner.”
“We are appealing to the US market, which is a heavy user of dating sites but lacks the necessary degree of authenticity in the personal identification of a person with whom you want to connect. We are planning to start on a beta version at 4 universities in the US.”
Yisrael Gross chairman of YourStartApp said, “In the last year we have produced four events to promote Israeli startups to investors worldwide. We always bring together investors and entrepreneurs in the same event.
“We have also joined forces with the Ultra-Orthodox high-tech entrepreneurs, because the benefit that employers get from hiring Ultra-Orthodox staff is high, due to the strong work ethic of this sector. In about four months we will set up an Orthodox accelerator in Bnei-Brak with several partners. This accelerator will provide solutions to Ultra-Orthodox entrepreneurs, who will be able to act in their home environment, just as they are starting out, and will receive the appropriate solutions to their particular needs.
As part of our activities we have also organized a competition in this event, which comes at the end of the 2014 Entrepreneurship Week. Here, we present the best among the many competing startups, and they will receive, besides the prizes, a very broad international exposure.”
