Sweet Peach Probiotics promises to make women’s vaginas smell like peaches.
Designed by Austen Heinz and Gilad Gome, Sweet Peach is a personalized probiotic that was created to help women manage UTIs and yeast infections. It will provide women with kits that will let them swab their vaginas at home and then mail the swab to a lab which will sequence the genomes of their vaginal bacteria. A personalized probiotic which targets UTIs and yeast infections based on each woman’s swab will then be created. Women will be able to purchase a monthly regimen or a longer “subscription” based on their needs.

The company plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign by the end of the month.
The two presented their new product at the Demo Conference held on November 19th in San Jose. There during a presentation Heinz said, “The idea is personal empowerment. All your smells are not human. They’re produced by the creatures that live on you.”
Gome added, “We think it’s a fundamental human right to not only know your code and the code of the things that live on you but also to rewrite that code and personalize it.”
“The idea we’re pushing is to do sequencing and synthesis as a way of restoring it to natural health. The company is being seen as wanting to smell like peach. But the vagina produces smells like any other micro-biome, ” Heinz told BuzzFeed. “We think people should have control over their microbes and code, so if they want to add that function [fragrance] to any of their microbes, then that should be up to them.”
