Due to poor earnings of late, Starbucks is making some changes. These include a new delivery service and a new dress code for its employees. Oh, and the company has reversed its earlier decision and will now bring back the Eggnog Latte for the Christmas season.
If you love your Starbucks fix every day but hate waiting on lines, or if you hate it when it’s your turn to pick up six different kinds of lattes and Frappuccinos which you then need to schlep back to the office, then Starbucks has answered your prayers.

With the release of a new app, Starbucks lovers will be able to easily and quickly place orders. As Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz told CNBC, “Imagine the ability to create a standing order of Starbucks delivered hot to your desk daily. That’s our version of e-commerce on steroids.”
Right now the company is only engaging in a pilot program for the new service which will begin in the second half of 2015.
But not everyone is happy with the company’s new policies, especially its baristas. They are no longer allowed to wear any jewelry on their hands and wrists except for plain bands on their fingers, according to a new dress code. This includes engagement rings. They also may not have any tattoos on their face or throat.
Starbucks said that the new code is in keeping with FDA regulations. In the new guidelines the company told its employees, “At Starbucks, we aim high to create a warm and inviting third place environment. We want every reflection of the brand to be as thoughtful as our heritage and caring around coffee. As a partner, your appearance is a reflection of the Starbucks brand and how we show up collectively is important to our customers. At the same time, we want to build a company where self-expression, empowerment and inclusion are nurtured.”
At least its baristas will be able to sip on Eggnog Lattes while they work this winter. Starbucks agreed to bring back the popular drink after a nationwide campaign from angry customers who loved it. The company dropped the beverage from its menu in order to simplify it. Apparently Starbucks thought that it was giving its customers too much choice.
“We made a mistake. We are very sorry, ” apologized a company spokeswoman.
The company will also bring back the Gingerbread Latte in Canada.
