Israeli fashion designer Alber Elbaz, artistic director of famed Paris fashion house Lanvin since 2001, has announced that there will be a retrospective of Jeanne Lanvin’s designs at Palais Galliera, according to malaymail. Jeanne Lanvin was a prominent fashion designer in the early twentieth century until her passing in 1946. She started designing children’s clothes and  then focused on women’s wear.

The retrospective includes some items from the Palais Galliera’s permanent collection as well as many other items on display between March and August. The Lanvin label celebrated its 125th anniversary earlier this year by launching a website. Alber Elbaz was born in Casablanca, and at the age of 10, his family emigrated to Israel. He worked in New York with designer Geoffrey Beene and afterward worked at Yves Saint Laurent before eventually taking the top position at Lanvin.
