Israel has invited India to be part of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s latest pet project of national cyber defense authority. The PM extended the invitation to join a dedicated force to fight cyber threats during his meeting with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in New York last Sunday.
This invitation comes at a time when India is focusing a great deal on building its cyber security defense systems with countries across the world including the US and the UK. This discussion between Modi and President Obama will also figure homeland security issues, terrorism and cyber security threats.

This body is envisaged as a vital link between the civilian and military authorities in the sphere of cyber security, an interface for leading experts in the field. Israel’s prime minister told Modi that the officials from both sides can be in touch regarding the issue.
“Cyber security is an area Israel knows a great deal about. They are futuristic in their approach, ” said an Indian official.
The unfolding national cyber defense authority will work alongside Israel’s National Cyber Bureau, which operates within Israel’s PM Office. This authority will cover all aspects of cyber threats both in terms of national security, economic activities and data of individuals.
A statement from Israel prime minister’s office said Prime Minister Netanyahu “raised the issue of the danger of a nuclear-armed Iran as well as the global threat posed by Islamic terrorism” with Modi. Israel prime minister also invited Modi to visit Israel.
