Starting in 2014, AEL will deliver the electro-optic systems over a year as part of the first phase of Brazil’s multiyear Sisfron Integrated Border Monitoring System.
As part of the program, Elbit Systems will invest in assets, infrastructure and know-how in optronics in Brazil.
Elbit Systems has been active in the Brazilian market for a number of years and views Brazil as a key market for its full portfolio. This includes a wide variety of systems, such as: unmanned turret systems for the Brazilian Army’s Land Forces as part of the Guarani Project; avionic systems, unmanned aircraft systems, a variety of modernization programs for the Brazilian Air Force’s and Brazilian Navy’s existing aircraft platforms, and development of new technologies for defense as well as homeland security applications.
