Margulies and CBS Corp CEO Les Moonves have been friends since the days of the medical drama ER.

“Les Moonves has been a mentor and friend since the beginning of my career, when he brought me onto ER, ” Margulies said. “[CBS Entertainment chairman] Nina Tassler has been a champion of The Good Wife from its inception. Collaborating with her has been both an inspiration and education. [CBS TV Studios president] David Stapf is a fearless leader who I have also had the pleasure to know and work with for 20 years. I couldn’t ask for more nurturing and seasoned partners.”

Margulies, herself a producer on The Good Wife, has won an Emmy for ER and two Emmies for The Good Wife.

“I have been a huge fan and admirer of Julianna’s for over 20 years, having worked with her on the series ER and The Good Wife” Tassler told Deadline. “She is exactly the type of award-winning actress a network dreams of collaborating with for projects.”

Stapf said: “As you’ve seen from her acting career, Julianna has amazing instincts and taste for selecting the highest-quality projects. But her talent doesn’t end there. From ER to The Good Wife, she has always been a leader on the set and collaborative with producers in terms of story, character development and overall production strategies for the show. We’re excited to expand our relationship with her to the development and production side of the business.”
