Medicope, an Israeli startup which offers an app that allows patients and caregivers to assess their ability to cope with serious illness, is one of only eleven companies to have been chosen to participate in Microsoft’s first ever cyber security and healthcare accelerator program currently under way in Tel Aviv.
Based in Ramat Hasharon, Medicope navigates serious illness patients and caregivers to recovery, by removing non-clinical challenges to care. The company declares that it continuously suggests ways to overcome each patient’s own non-clinical barriers to make their journey as easy and smooth as possible. It does so by combining mobile patient navigation methodologies, persuasive technology tactics, and crowd-sourcing, in order to improve health outcomes.

The Microsoft Ventures Accelerator in Tel Aviv includes firms from Slovenia, India, Japan and Spain, with the other seven all coming from Israel. They were chosen from over three hundred companies from 32 different countries.
The companies chosen will participate in the four month accelerator program that began this week. The program assists startups to develop products and services on a world-class level and to make a rapid jump to the global market. It consists of mentoring and individualized guidance from over 100 mentors who are senior high-tech and business professionals; physical and technology infrastructure and a range of joint ventures with global companies and organizations that offer consulting and follow-up programs.
“This batch emphasizes Israel’s strength as an ecosystem of global importance” said Hanan Lavy, director of the Microsoft Ventures Accelerator in Israel. “These partnerships create a set of global capabilities for startups in the program – and not by coincidence. The partnership will provide startups with unprecedented access to strategic markets and clients. And in addition to the mentorship startups will receive, our goal is to springboard the program participants to the front lines of the industry.”
