As part of a project to expand alternative energy development and use in Israel and to stimulate the economy of Arava and Eilat areas of Southern Israel, the Eilat-Eliot Renewable Energy Initiative announced a tender offer for the Timna Solar Park, a 50 megawatt PV Tracker solar field in Southern Israel.
It will be located on a 247 acre plot close to the former Timna Mines, to the North of Eilat. Those with PV tracker solar systems can participate in the bidding, and the cost covers only the land. The Israeli Land Authority has already approved the deal. The tender offer is going to be published in mid-October and will be available worldwide, while the Eilat-Eliot Renewable Energy Initiative will be in charge of the Timna Industrial zone where the park is located. Bidders will be required to submit a detailed proposal to the National Planning Committee.
