“The Walk, ” the latest film from Howling Wolf Productions, centers around a young Jewish boy, Danny, in late 1980s Brooklyn. Despondent over the death of his father, Danny encounters an older Jewish man, Alfred, and they start taking daily walks, during which Alfred shares insights that help the boy heal. But there is a secret that Alfred doesn’t share, which ultimately has a profound impact on Danny more than 20 years later.

“The Walk, ” also starring Aaron Wolf and Sawyer Barth, will screen at the festival on Saturday, August 16 at 2:30 PM in the famed TCL Chinese Theaters. Writer/director Aaron Wolf, who’s walks with his grandfather, Rabbi Alfred Wolf, upon whom the film is also based, will be participating in a Q&A after the screening. Pending scheduling issues, Riegert and Wolpe may also be in attendance.
