Google has 3D, ready to explore maps of Mars and the Moon right on Google Maps. You just have to go looking.
Here’s how you get there:
First, click here to get to Google Maps.
Down in the bottom left, there’s an icon that lets you put the map in “Google Earth” mode. Click on it.
Wait for the Earth load in 3D, and, instead of zooming in – zoom out as far as you can
When you’ve zoomed all the way out, you’ll see options for “Moon” and “Mars” appear at the bottom of your screen, as you can see in the picture above.
(If nothing shows up, you might have the “Explore” tab closed. Click the pair of upward arrows in the bottom right to expand the Explore drawer.)
You do need to be in the “new” version of Google Maps for this to work, not the classic version.
