In “The 5th Wave” movie, to be released in 2016, an alien race, known as The Others, has invaded Earth. They are attempting to “cleanse” the planet of humanity, using methods known as “waves.” 16-year-old Cassie, to be played in the movie version by Chloë Moretz, goes on the run to save her five-year-old brother.
Liev Schreiber will play Commander Vosch, a high-ranking military official, who is suspected of not being human at all.
The aliens’ waves first shut down the electrical grids, next they trigger tsunamis and earthquakes, then they unleash a pandemic and in the end they hunt down the survivors, except human children.
The cast will also feature Nick Robinson in the role of Cassie’s best friend Ben Parish and Alex Roe as Evan, a mysterious young man Cassie meets on her journey.
