Architect Kobi Karp will design a new condominium apartment tower for the Publix grocery store chain to be located in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.
A 21 story 351 unit building is to be constructed next to an already existing Publix which is to be torn down. It will feature wrap around balconies, sea views and sleek curved floor plates. The supermarket will be replaced by a 54, 000 square foot shopping center.
The renderings for the project were first published by exMiami.org.
The planners are expected to submit their building application to the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission on Thursday. Hopefully things will go better this time as Publix was accused of fraud by that city when it previously submitted a plan to develop the site back in 2006.
