Noah Gottlieb is managing a new, $35 million residential development which is planned for Chicago’s University Village, located on the University of Chicago Illinois campus. The project is being developed by Property Markets Group’s Chicago division.
The development will have two buildings with 130 residential units and 70 parking spaces. There will also be a 500 square foot retail area. Curbed reports that PMG expects to submit a zoning application in the next couple of weeks.
Gottlieb, Senior Managing Director of Property Markets Group, told Curbed Chicago, “The key to a successful development in the city, especially in the local neighborhoods, is a proactive and productive dialogue with local residents and the alderman. The reality is, if you ask 100 people their opinion, you’ll receive 100 different answers. So a healthy collaboration amongst all parties, which tackles and addresses the two or three key issues is the goal. That’s what we were able to accomplish here and we got a better project out of it.”
Established in 1991 Property Markets Group is a New York City-based real estate acquisition and development firm with real estate assets spread throughout the United States and abroad. It was co-founded by Zel Feldman.
PMG has successfully transformed underutilized assets into highly profitable operating properties for more than 20 years. It has been responsible for over 150 real estate transactions, including better than 80 residential buildings in Manhattan, during its 20 year history. PMG has distinguished itself over the last five years through its development of new construction condominium developments, in New York City as well as in Florida, South Carolina, Illinois, and the Caribbean.
Gottlieb is primarily responsible for deal procurement, day-to-day operations of PMG’s Multi-family portfolio, and the growth of the commercial real estate investment platform. Since joining PMG in 2009, he has supervised the acquisition, redevelopment, disposition and/or management of more than 100 properties valued in excess of 120MM.
Born and raised on Long Island, NY, Noah attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics.
