The American television network NBC is developing a new espionage drama series, to be called “Allegiance.” The new production is based on “The Gordin Cell, ” a drama-thriller series developed originally for Israeli television by Ron Leshem and Daniel Syrkin and created by Ron Leshem. Writer-director George Nolfi directed the pilot for the new show.
The Israeli series stars Ran Danker as Eyal Gordin, an Israeli Air Force officer and Mark Ivanir as Yaakov Lundin, a Russian Intelligence Agent.
The new storyline for the American series focuses on Alex O’Connor, who is a young CIA analyst who looks after the Russian affairs desk, who discovers that his wealthy parents Mark (Cohen) and Katya ( Davis) were Russian agents who retired many years earlier. Now however the Russians have have somehow managed to bring them back into service to prepare a terrorist operation inside the Unitd Statesn designed to bring America to defeat.
Years ago the Russian-born femme fatale Katya was given a mission by the KGB to enlist American businessman Mark O’Connor as a spy, and then inevitably the two fell in love.
After years in America building a family and with nary a word from their erstwhile masters in Moscow, Mark and Katya thought they had escaped their past.
However now the new Mother Russia has just one more mission for them – to turn their son Alex into a spy too. Not an easy choice for them and with a clear dilemma: Betray their country or put their family at risk.
The Ron Leshem and Daniel Syrkin series is produced by Tedy Productions, and distributed globally by Keshet International.
