Matt Zoller Seitz, the New York City based film and television critic, author, and filmmaker has revealed that the subject of his next book will be none other than the high powered film director Oliver Stone the recipient of three Academy Awards for his films Midnight Express, Platoon and Born on the Fourth of July.
Seitz whose principal activities are as the editor-in-chief at rogerebert.com, as well as acting as a television critic for the New York Magazine, wowed the critics in 2013 with his book on the life of American film director and screenwriter Wes Anderson “The Wes Anderson Collection“, published by Abrams Books, now intends to follow up that success with “The Oliver Stone Experience.”
On the basis that you should never change a winning team or format, Matt will be using the same formula as he did with Wes Anderson, providing what will be retrospective insights into Stone’s life and career, from his childhood in New York, his service in the US Army in Vietnam to his entry into the world of film making, and his success as a politically aware and stylistically radical filmmaker.
